Welcome to the Woodford hub

Your trusted local EPs

Our EPs are part of a bigger allied health team at the Woodford hub. Here’s the gym, the pool and a few of the people you’d be training with.

What exercise physiology helps with

Six reasons people book an EP

Whatever brings you in, your program is built around what you want to be able to do again.

built around your goals
A clinician guiding a participant through a resistance band exercise in the gym beside a climbing wall

NDIS goals & daily function

Strength, endurance and balance for the things in your plan: in and out of the car, the shower, the shops, and a full day without running out of steam.

Two team members in uniform talking across a plyometric box in the gym, with a treadmill behind them

Parkinson’s, MS, stroke & brain injury

Structured, progressive exercise that protects mobility and coordination, and adapts as your condition does.

A Quad Care clinician mid hydrotherapy session in the heated pool

Chronic pain, arthritis & fatigue

Movement that eases pain rather than flaring it, paced properly, with the pool there for the days land is too much.

Two clinicians in branded uniforms setting up exercise equipment in the gym beside a colourful climbing wall

Heart, lungs, diabetes & weight

Safe, monitored programs for cardiac and pulmonary conditions, type 2 diabetes and weight management, coordinated with your GP.

An older woman in a black t-shirt pausing between exercises beside a gym rack

Falls, balance & staying independent

Balance and strength work for older adults who want to stay on their feet, in their own home, and off the waiting list for a walker.

A client stepping down into the pool on the rail while his clinician waits

Injury rehab & return to work

Post-surgery and post-injury conditioning, and WorkCover return-to-work programs that get you back on the job safely.

The Woodford gym & pool

A gym built for this work

A quiet gym at 50 Archer St with the gear an EP uses every day, and the heated pool right next door.

Assessed first

Blood pressure, baseline strength and balance are measured before a program is written.

Every exercise coached first

You learn each movement with your EP beside you before it goes on your sheet.

Land and water, one plan

Your EP runs the pool sessions too. Sore week? Same program, in the water.

Three places to see an EP

Most people mix them. A lot of programs start in the gym, move to the pool for a sore week, and end up as a sheet on the fridge.

Hydrotherapy with your EP

Buoyancy takes the weight off sore joints and the 38-degree water loosens what land tightens. More on hydrotherapy.

Frequently asked questions

Before you pick up the phone

An accredited exercise physiologist uses exercise as treatment: strength, mobility, balance, endurance and pain management for people with a disability, a chronic condition, an injury or the effects of ageing. Every program is written for you, coached with you, and adjusted as you go.

A physiotherapist usually diagnoses and treats an injury or acute problem, hands-on. An exercise physiologist takes it from there with structured, progressive exercise to build long-term function and independence. At Quad Care they work as one team, so you see whoever is right for the week you’re having.

Yes. Our exercise physiologists visit homes, schools, workplaces and aged care across Woodford, Moreton Bay and the Somerset. Home programs are built around what you already have in the house.

Not for NDIS, private or Support at Home clients, just call. Medicare care plans need a GP referral, DVA needs a D904 from your GP, and WorkCover needs your claim number. We walk you through each one.

Yes. The heated pool is part of the Woodford hub and our EPs run sessions in it. Hoist access is available, and the water sits at 38 degrees.

Comfortable clothes and closed shoes for the gym, swimmers and a towel for the pool, a water bottle, and any recent reports or scans if you have them. Your EP does the rest.

It can be, with a chronic disease management plan from your GP, which covers a set number of allied health sessions each year. We’ll help you with the paperwork.

Yes. Our EPs build programs for type 2 diabetes, heart and lung conditions and weight management, and keep your GP in the loop.
